WaypointQR LLC ("WaypointQR," "we," "us," or "our") operates the WaypointQR platform, a governed QR redirect infrastructure service for agencies and businesses, accessible at waypointqr.com (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you access or use our Service, including our website, application programming interfaces (APIs), and related services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, company name, and billing information. We do not collect information from end users who scan QR codes unless the QR creator has configured analytics tracking.

2.2 Usage Data

We collect platform usage data including pages visited, features used, API calls made, and interaction patterns. This data is used to improve our service and is aggregated and anonymized for analytics.

2.3 Scan Analytics Data

When a QR code is scanned, we collect the scan timestamp, approximate geolocation (country/city level), device type, browser, and referring URL. This data belongs to the workspace that created the QR code and is accessible only to authorized workspace members.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and send related billing information
  • Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents and fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Subprocessors: Cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery. Full list in our subprocessors document .
  • Workspace members: Within your workspace, team members can access data based on their role permissions.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Scan analytics data retention varies by plan (30 days on Free, up to unlimited on Enterprise). After the retention period, data is permanently deleted.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal data
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing

7. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We ensure adequate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data subjects.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
